Cumbria Showring Market Place
The Market Place is divided in to two main sections – ‘On Offer’ and ‘Wanted’. If you or your event or festival have something or do something that would be useful to other events and festivals then the ‘On Offer’ section is the place to tell them about it.
It could be that you offer a particular service or hire out equipment etc. in a commercial capacity, are seeking a reciprocal arrangement with another event or are offering the service or goods for free. Likewise, if your festival needs something then you can advertise the fact in the ‘Wanted’ section.
Placing an advert is very easy. All you need to do is go to the Market Place page and log on if you haven’t already done so. Next click on the category you want from either the ‘On Offer’ or ‘Wanted’ columns. At the top of the next page is a button marked ‘New Advert’. Click on this and follow the instructions to complete your advert.
A few tips on using the Market Place:
- Each of the sections is divided into four subsections. These are Services, Equipment, Advice and Training. If you or your event have something to offer or what things that fall under more than one category then you should list these items separately.
- When you are entering your offer or request, remember to think about how long you want the advert to be listed. You don’t want people to carry on getting in touch with you about something that should have expired three months ago!
- Remember to clearly state if what you are offering is free of charge or if you will be charging for it.
- Since the website is available as ‘view only’ to the public, your contact details are not listed with the advert. Instead the interested party can post a ‘comment’ which can be a request for more information or a question etc. which will be sent straight to your email address. If you have a website you may like to include a link in the body of the advert. Enquirers would otherwise have to go to ‘member search’ to find this information.
- Cumbria Showring website is not only aimed at events and festival organisers themselves, it is also aimed at businesses and organisations that support or supply the events sector. If you have a favourite supplier or organisation that has been particularly helpful to you, why not encourage them to become a Cumbria Showring member and advertise themselves in the Market Place?
….and finally a note of caution.
- The website administrator will be keeping an eye on what happening on the website and will act if they think that something unsuitable has been posted. However Cumbria County Council and the website administrator can take no responsibility for transactions that take place as a result of advertising or responding to adverts on the Market Place. Be careful, it is your responsibility. If in doubt, don’t go through with the transaction. If something looks dodgy to you then you can report it to the website administrator in complete confidence. katie.wise@cumbriacc.gov.uk
