If you are looking for funding for your festival or event you may want to consider approaching your local Neighbourhood Forum. |
There are around 60 in Cumbria and they enable local people to meet informally with their elected representatives. Most hold regular meetings where local people can suggest issues for discussion.
Cumbria County Council makes grants available in your area through neighbourhood forums. These grants are available for voluntary, non-profit making and community groups for community based projects on an area basis. Local staff can offer help and advice to community groups and may know of additional funding available in your area.
Once you have completed the form, it will be reviewed by your local Neighbourhood Development Officer (NDO) who can help identify other local funding sources and will let you know when your application can be considered by the Neighbourhood Forum. It will be a case of the local people deciding if and how your event is going to benefit their community, something that is worth keeping at the forefront of your mind when you are making your application. The amounts that the forums will give out are not huge (perhaps between £500 - £1000), you should discuss the amount you are hoping to apply for with the Neighbourhood Development Officer before submitting your application.
